I was going through some stuff from my childhood last year and came upon my "deed" for that Yukon land. As I recall it was one square inch, so a few acres would cover a lot of "deeds". I think it came free in the cereal that sponsored Sgt. Preston. I did read through the fine print and it seemed like an enforceable deed although the access might be a problem if the adjoining land owners wanted to make a stink. LOL
It may be gone anyway. My grandpa won an acre of land in Colorado up near Silverton in a contest in the 1930"s. The only access, other than hiking in, was via the narrow guage railroad that runs from Durango to Silverton. It was in a place called Elk Park. I camped there a couple of times, and then one day a letter comes saying it wasn"t our land anymore. No compensation, no explanation. I wonder if it wound up being sold to some politician"s buddy to develop it into a recreation area or something. Didn"t seem fair. I guess I better be planning a trip to the Yukon to check on my land.
