I can remember back in 71 when we were still tryen ti pick corn at this time of the year . fall was super wet and we could not get thru with a mounted picker and it never really froze . We ended up parking the mounted picker as my buddy and i had two and we borrowed a neighbors one row new idea and put it behind our 310 Case dozer that had a PTO and went after it . Even with the little dozer we ended up pulloing the back wheels off my Farmall 450 D and putting them on my buddy's so we had duals as his 450 D had a wide ft. and floater tire to help PULL the little 310 and a half full wagon . What a mess we made of the fields . When spring did come we had to run the disc. over everything twice to sorta level it out so we could plow.
