When I traveled the backroads of Saskatchewan on the harvest I couldn't help but notice the country churches. The cemeteries were surrounded with a wrought iron fence and the stones were big and tall with a cross on top. Most of the cemeteries were right up against the church building itself. The sad part was most of them are now vacant, some with the roof caving in. The denominations were either Roman with the tall pointed steeple, Ukranian with the big upside-down turnip dome, or Anglican. Being a full blooded Danish Skandanavian I felt kind of out of place.
