Brad Gyde said: (quoted from post at 16:45:26 01/21/11) Monday in SE Lower Michigan, I took in 2 loads of "shred" (mixed tin, etc) I got $280/ton.. They are paying $280 flat across the board, except for "auto cast" which was 280-320, and "heavy melt" was 250-300
Copper 2.50-3.00 Depending on size/grade
Alum 0.55-0.70 Depending on "type"
These prices are from a smaller local yard, but are comparable to the larger yards within 50 miles.. and was about the best price I could find after calling the 5 closest yards to me. One yard was paying 285, but is 10 miles farther, and in a larger town, so run a bigger risk of being stopped by police.
I've scrapped out a 750 and 760 Massey combine.. Have a A2 and K Gleaner going next, then, if prices rise above $300, My 510 Massey will go.
