Roy, I'm guessing that there is alot more to the story other than a pit bull that came up to the cops to lick their faces and get petted---then the bad cops started shooting the friendly family dog.
My son had two big police dogs that would not hurt a flea. He had his head up his rear end, as I took my young son up to the fence to prt the puppies. When my older son was not around, those dogs would kill anyone they could get at.
I know of several places that our EMS team will simply wait inside the ambulance if there is a 911 call. Our job description does not cover being bitten by a dog that goes balistic when a siren or flashing lights scares them. Once the cops get the dog under control, we will try to make up lost time as best we can.
I have addressed this issue with several of the dog owners stating our protacal, and the dogs are still there, so you simply can not fix stupid sometimes.
My other son was bit three different times on my ex-wives lawn by the neighbors big dog. The dog had bitten a total of twelve people before something happened to the dog one night.
The last time the big dog bit my son, he carried him about seventy five feet by my sons ham. We were so lucky the dog did not shake his head.
