Don't believe the Rock Island plant ever stamped the rear flange. But there should be an engine # on the right side of the block above the oil filter. On early engines it will be stamped in the rough casting and usually takes some cleaning to find it. On the later ones it is on a raised pad. Should be able to tell year of block that way but it could have been changed over the years so no guarantee of year of tractor. Also if it has the Marvel carb (TSX 114 most likely) as most do it will have the date of manufacture stamped on the id tag, again no certainty that it is the original. TSX 597 was used on later models and the TSX 253 on all fuel versions. Lee
