I haven't personally built, but have done much research & have friends/acquaintences who have. The claim is that because of the thermal mass, and the fact that the structure can be built extremely "tight" the "R" performance exceeds even their claim. I would believe that to be true... at least out here where the wind blows constantly. It's virtually impossible to get a "stick built" structure "tight" in this country... the wind is relentless and will penetrate virtually anything. I personally know of two guys who built their entire houses of ICF's... not sure that they were logix brand, but ICF's none the less. Both guys couldn't say enough about how quiet and efficient their houses were. And, in my estimation, I think you can build a house with ICF's/solid concrete and not spend significantly more money than "stick built" if you consider ALL the expenses associated with framed structures. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
