Times change, so do we. I wear jeans to small rural Baptist church, probably 1/2 of the congregation does also(including women). 1st Sunday is communion Sunday and then I wear slacks(I'm a deacon)unless I loose track of time and forget what day it is. I know some churches are extremely formal, we are not, we figure if they want to come to church, we want to have them. In summer, several people wear shorts( my Grandparents would have had a fit over this). A few years ago, our preacher went on the bike ride across Iowa. Sunday morning he and another fellow stopped at a nice looking church and went inside. They got stopped at the door and were told they weren't dressed appropiately to attend that church. Paul explained that he was a preacher and they wanted to attend. The guy let them sit in the balcony only if they remained silent and left just before the service ended.
