I got a 10,000 watt generator/welder. I have rigged to run off of propane or natural gas. When I am welding with it I use propane, have it trailer mounted. I pull it up near the house where I have a natural gas connection and the electrical connection. I was welding with it a day or two ago. After hearing the weather forcast yesterday, I decided I better take it back to the house. I decided not to hook it up to natural gas because I plan to do some more welding next week and I got a big propane tank on it. Got 4 inches of snow last night and some ice and a lot of wind. I got up this morning everything was fine till I sat down to the breakfast table and the power went off. No problem, went out and started the generator started fine but never would reach operating RPM. I finally connected it to natural gas. It fired up and ran fine, switched the power on and went in the house and finished breakfast. I was watching TV half hour later, about all the ice and I heard the Gen backfire went outside and it was snorting and puffing, switched the power off and messed with it until I bout froze. Finally gave up and came back in the house. Power has been off and on all day
