Daughter-in-law used to be a waitress- she said she never asked anybody if they wanted a senior discount- just gave it to them without asking if they were obvious geezers, and let the others ask for it if they wanted. Stayed out of a lot of trouble that way, she said.
Wife and I went to Denny's with a very young looking female friend, on the morning of her 55th birthday. We all ordered off the senior menu- they didn't blink an eye with me, asked my wife how old she was and took her word for it, and carded our friend. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
