We bought one in California a few years back. We opted for the "scroll" compressor, and just slightly over-sized it.
With the exception of one relay once it ran flawlessly. Even on those 115 degree days it waas able to take a few moments to rest.
The hardest part was getting anyone that wanted to open it up to not strip out all the srews and leave out the rubber backed washers.
It was outside my bedroom window and the difference between having all the screws tight and with the rubber washers, and one with most all the fasteners stripped, missing and pannels rattling is a big deal.
It came with year or two "free service" contract and everytime they came around it would seem that they would strip screws. I'd get livid. They'd come back and oversize em. I'd call again and they'd come back and install the rubber back washers.
The Rheem product was fine. I think it's sold under other labels too.
