Ice has brought Dallas/Ft. Worth to a standstill. Our Offices are closed again for the third straight day. Low Tues nite was the coldest in 20 yrs. Rolling power black outs due to overloads and boat loads of wrecks. This hit Monday nite. Tues morning, there were 249 wrecks in Dal/Ft.Worth area.
DFW Airport was completely closed for about half of Tuesday until they got the runways de-iced. Most flights were canceled because the wind was too strong (gusts over 40) to de-ice the planes. News said over 10,000 flights canceled nationwide because of the storm.
Winds took a piece of siding off the house. I"ll wait for much warmer temps to fix it.
Roads don"t look that bad today. Really surprised the office is closed again.
We"ve had three days of napping and watching old movies. We"re snug and warm. Animals here are all ok. Captured the barn cats and shut them in the tack room. Dogs are in the garage. Won"t know about the horses until Sat - they"re at the farm in Mt. Pleasant.
Oh yeah, they"re predicting snow tonight. Temp this morning is 17. If we get snow, it will stick and offices will probably be closed again tomorrow. Forecast says we won"t get above 32 until Sat.
Vendors for the Superbowl (restaurants, etc) are all crying because no one is out spending money.
We won"t head for the farm until Sat afternoon. Not much we can do there, but need to check on the house, shop, & horses.
