Weather stations are usually in the larger cities. The weather station for Louisville Ky is located at Standiford Field which has busy interstate highways on two sides, and the United Parcel hub on the third side. There are hundreds of thousands gallons of jet fuel burned every day there, along with hundreds of acres of concrete surronding the weather station. During the hottest part of last summer, the morning lows were at least ten degrees higher than they were out in the rural parts of the county. The daytime highs were also several degrees higher at Standiford than in rural areas. Follow the money. Think of all the federal billions in grants to study the problem, and all the billions in solutions to fix a nonexistant problem. Joe

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
