We could make stuff in America (and should!), but how many Americans would be willing to py the increased cost of American made goods?
Because someone in a 3d world country making a garment (for example) for pennies in pay beats any American who would expect a decent living wage.
We have to wake up and say to ourselves "Buying poducts from my fellow American is important. I'm willing to spend the extra money so my neighbor has a job".
I think that's the kind of "redistribution of wealth" that we can all get behind!
Why can't we say to the companies of the world that to sell your item in America, it must have xx% American-produced content? Other countries do that all the time. Start out with a small percentage, then increase it as time goes by.
