Actually a granite ship would float given enough surface area.I guess by your logic, steel ships cant float either, they are obviously heavy (some have even been known to carry granite slabs!!!). Maybe you think the Egyptians pushed their limestone blocks down the Nile from the quarries to the delta when it froze over? There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
