I think you will rethink the elimination of the dust collector once you get the mill running. Not a good idea to run ear corn thru the mill with out a screen in it.Stop at some farms and see if they have a hammer mill screen with 1" perforations laying around in the corn crib.They will give it to you I would bet. That is what we ran to make Dairy Cow feed. 1/4" screens running shelled corn thru it will make good corn meal if you clean the shelled corn first. Ear corn,Oats,every minute or so throw a small amount of minerals and salt ,not to much salt in the wagon on top of your feed.You have to figure out the amounts so as to not over use the minerals etc. There were lots of Wards Mills around back then,we had a Wards farm store in town,bought tires,tools,clothes feeds ,many other things in stock there.
