Both my grandfathers were long gone before I was born so I never knew what it was like to even have a grandfather. And then my father died as a young man when I was eleven. We had just started to do things together, hunting, fishing, learning to drive his new H. I remember him struggling mightily trying to tell me about procreation. He was very relieved when I told him OK dad, lets just do some target practice. My friends in HS used to make me very angry when they bitched about their "old man." I told them they were damn lucky to even have a dad.
