Your thinking sort of like a permanent green manure crop?probably wouldnt like the results,though ive never tried it.Probably be better to just keep something growing year round and use lots of rotation if you had the weather for it.Something like english peas ,corn ,then onions , radishes,turnips something that you could leave out in winter before early peas again.Would depend on your area of course if you could plant early enough,and had a mild enough winter. Might even if you had enough space plant a green manure crop on a third or so every year and stay going good.my old uncle kept something growing year round out in west central okla.he had a huge garden and only planted 2/3 of it each year with the third that was laid by under cover .But thats all he did also, it was a year round job for him.Didnt really truck farm but he kept a lot of folks in groceries!
