Good point Brian, but we can disagree until we wear the keys off of the keyboard, just to get the last word in, and still accomplish nothing. In my younger days I would do just that. Today I don't care if I'm viewed as right. Or wrong.
Sometimes a topic would come up on here that I felt that I knew a little about, and a post or two would be in error (in my opinion). I have typed up a response (or rebuttal) to the post in error and smugly smacked the send button. Usually my response post did not contribute a thing to resolving the issue, and in fact prolonged into a long and painful discourse of "I said/you said" rebuttals until someone finally gave up in exasperation.
I have adopted a new technique. Type up the rebuttal, read it through once, hit the delete key, and go on. I'm working on the "no typing - just go on" technique, but haven't mastered it yet.
By the way, Brian - this is not a rebuttal to your comment. You may have the last word - if you choose.
