Had left one done 4 yrs ago. Agree with Shetlandsheepdog below...TAKE the pain pills. They will allow you do do more bending and stretching which will quicken the recovery. " Manning up" will get you nowhere. An hr or two before PT take plenty and do some stretches of your own. Don't go into PT "cold". They will make you pay! If you don't stretch everything it will heal up "short" and you will never get total range. Age has a lot to do with it also. I was only 56 and very active physically. I had no problem with any of it and would do it again in a minute. Some older people are satisfied to just walk without pain and not interested in being able to do what a 50-60 yr old wants to do Got to remember , too , those PT people have a rep to keep and must report back to surgeon/doc on progress. They DONT want to look bad. Take the pain relief !!! More if you need it! Good luck. RB
