Hello I have another question regarding hydraulics on my old Minneapolis Moline (Model RTI). It has a front end loader on it with the hydraulic pump mounted on the front to the crankshaft. The loader capacity is rated for 3000 pounds maximum.
The control valve-block that contains the levers to raise and lower the bucket (and tilt it) has been replaced sometime over the years. I think I need to replace it again. (The engine stalls when tying to maneuver the bucket. It seems as if the hydraulics are fighting each other—it “feels” as if one hose is sending fluid to raise it while at the same time, the other hose is sending fluid to lower it.)
Since I cannot find any information anywhere regarding the hydraulics PSI or the Gallons Per Minute (GPM) that the pump puts out, I am guessing at the replacement valve capacities.
I have found a replacement valve made by Prince that has a maximum PSI of 3000 and a flow rate of 25 GPM. I think (by looking at other valves for various tractors) that this is on the upper end of valve sizes. (See below for specs on this Prince valve)
My question is even if my tractor hydraulics are not flowing at 25 GPM or running at 3000 PSI, will this valve still work for my little loader’s application? I feel as if it would be better to have a valve that spec’ed out too “strong” than too small.
Any feedback on this valve? (Or what could be causing my motor to bog down when using the hydraulics? (The rams seem to be working OK))
(Prince Hydraulic directional valve. Model # RD532CCCAAA5A4B1. 3000psi rated. 25GPM max. 3/4" NPT in/out and 1/2"NPT work ports. Spring Centered handles return to center when released. Integrated relief valve set @ 2000psi.)
