It's not so much the brand you buy as it is the service you will get later. If you find a good local HVAC business, they will sell only the brand that stands behind their produce. No one will stay in business for long if they sell junk and can't back up the produce they sell with good service. Heat pumps are problematic and require servicing. They won't last 30 years like an old gas or oil furnace. You may be lucky to get a 10 year compressor.
It would be interesting to ask others how long has their heat pump lasted and how many service calls did they have before they replaced it?
I personally don't think the money you save over the life of the heat pump will pay for the savings you get.
Also, a heat pump is a cold heat source. If you are used to having hot air from your furnace, you won't like the 80-90 degree air that comes out of a heat pump.
