Because MSN Bing has fantastic aerial photos, I might be able to put an arrow on the pallets I saw in Bakersfield, CA. Whether I can come up with a street address and the owner of the property is unclear. But the city street will be super-imposed on the map/photo. Maybe you know somebody in the area who can find the location, make the purchase, and ship the parts to you.
I don't think you will find replacement chain-drive drop boxes in IL. You will need to go to sugar cane country or big vegetable farms; and the salvage yards in those areas. The salvage yards will want a huge premium for those parts. Some industrial machines like bituminous pavers used the IH chain-drive.
Don't purchase gear-drives. MV's weren't built that way. Be thankful you don't need the front end. The tractor below sold for $6500 in PA four years ago.
