OK, so here's the deal. The truck has an AOD in it, not an E4OD. There is NO lockup converter in it. It uses two input shafts instead. It ONLY shakes at or over 70MPH and when the TRANSMISSION is hot. The engine is running just as good as ever, even better now that it has all new plugs and wires. It is NOT misfiring as near as I can tell. It used to pull hills just as good as anything else, it would run out of power on the long pulls and drop down into third, like its supposed to. I drive the truck everyday to and from work, about 25 miles each way. And everyday, the fuel economy gets worse and the trans shudders worse in overdrive ONLY, and only after the trans is hot. There is a pulsing you can feel when driving along on flatter ground and slight down grades. I have serviced the transmission, and today I checked the fluid level again. I found it to be OK level, but the fluid had a dark color to it and a bit of grit could be felt in the fluid i wiped off the dipstick.

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
