During my fall Canada fishing trip I had some starting issues with my Dodge 5.9 cummins 12 Valve. When got home I took it in to the local Dodge dealer. They quoted me, $800 for a fuel shutoff solenoid, $35 for the elec relay for it, and $240 labor. I left with plan B in mind. I got on the Dodge discussion board. Found out that most time it is just the relay, and a dirty solenoid rod from a decayed boot on it. Bought the boot and relay off ebay for less than 20 dollars. Dropped the solenoid, cleaned it, installed new boot, new relay. Good to go for less than $20 and about 3 hours labor. A small savings of $1055
