Because of My DADS ww2 service , In the pacific , I am a history nut there , in todays times , PUBLIC OUTCRY WOULD BE INTENSE and demand a cease fire ...it is doubtful that war would still be that intense but one never knows the will AND RESOLVE of the human spirit , and time chages everything .. the powers that be calculated risk takers suppossed the WW2 would certainly dragged on thru most of 1946 and possibly into 1948 with more than 250 thousand american soldirs killed . AND AN UNFORGIVEABLE PERCENTAGE OF JAPANESE CIVILIANS .. had we not used the atomic bomb ...USING conventional weapons , it Would had become a horrible fight taking the island of JAPAN had we not had the courage to take the severe steps that were taken .. lemays tuf fire bombing got little news coverage here in the States ,and it was probably best that way in retrospect , the carnage suffered was horrific ,Took a TERRIBLE HUMAN demoralizing toll , that weighed heavily on the emperors heart to end the fight , when the atomic bombs came , it was enuf ,, however the JAPANESE ARMY generals planned a coup to take over the emperors palace and continue the fight ,, somewhere AND SOMEHOW , GOD stepped in .. AND MANY OF THOSE GENERALS WERE KILLED ..the past should be learned from and history should always be respected ,,.My Dad was injured and burned sometime in late may or early June 1945,, he honestly believed he was marked for death when he got sent back a third time after being injured twice ,, but he survived,,he claims to have witnesed the 1st b-29s to land on TINNIAN.,, THOSE b -29s were not in service yet in 1943 ...

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
