Friend has a 2 cyl Yanmar that was really smoking and would'nt rev over 1000 and belched black smoke. He installed a new injection pump, and now it still smokes, won't rev up and seems to be laboring. All functions work, has no air restrictions. I listened to it and exhaust sounds funny like a turbo whistling. They said they set the valves but I question the pump timming. Is there a procedure to shim the pump? Thanks, Don from Canada
