I've been saying that for years. I rarely ever get anything worse than a case of the sniffles.
I buy fruit (like apples and grapes and plums) from the grocery store and eat a couple on the way home before they're washed. I do chores, collect eggs, vet sheep and if I don't happen to think of it, eat without washing my hands. If you listen to the Antibacterial Nazis, I should be dead.
My wife spent several years as a housecleaner and B&B maid. The owners insisted she use antibacterial cleaners for EVERYTHING, and now the skin on her hands is so thin and delicate she has to wear cotton gloves at all times, and glove up with rubber gloves if she's going to touch anything stronger than tap water.
