I quit smoking about 10 years ago and took up eating as a bad habit. I went from 220 to 275 in about a year. Even at 6'3" that was way to much weight for my age. I finally went down to 1800 calories a day and began walking 3 miles a day. It took about 8 mths to get back down to 240. Control the weight gain because it is tough to take it off. Also they say that only about 10% of the people who quit smoking stay smoke free, so whatever you do it will require an effort on your part. Good luck.
