I've got a brother who does HVAC for a living. He doesn't have a single good word for any newly manufactured brand whatsoever. All the compressors are now made in Mexico, Brazil, China or the like. On a lighter note, it's possible your fridge might just need a cleaning and a shot of freon.
I know Maytag is no longer the old Maytag, but I've had three major Maytag appliances in the last 5 years and I won't buy another.
