Speaking of Studebakers, like that bottom photo, in the early '60's my father got so mad at that Silver Hawk, straw that broke the camel's back mad, called Tom and had him come out and tow it to the junkyard, paying him $50 over a dead battery. That car was in pretty good shape other than that as I recall. But, he was mad, mad, mad one times too many.
Truth be told? I was about 6 or 7 and could see over the dash, and just barely reach the pedals, and one time when the parents weren't home but the Hawk was, my older brother knew where the keys were and took me out for driving lessons. He was about 10 I guess. 6 or 7 year-old in the drivers seat, 289 reved up, dumped the clutch, and that baby did a burn out down the drive to be proud of. Our Farmall H couldn't do a burnout like that. Come to think of it, maybe that's why Dad paid to have the Hawk junked, so my brother and me didn't get killed while he and Mom were out in the Impala, kind of like the Impala on the top of the stack in your picture. Could be, I guess. Love to have that Mack.

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
