You can only elect the people that run for office. Sure you can write someone in but you'd need everyone to cooperate and vote for that write-in. Not gonna happen. There are too many mindless sheep who vote for the best looking person, or who automatically vote for the incumbent.
NOBODY is going to vote for anyone who tells them they have to sacrifice for the good of the nation, especially if they're already poor and/or on government assistance.
Anyway, the government has nothing to do with this. This is all on the free enterprise system.
Even if the government took away all the environmental protection laws and waived all taxes, companies would STILL send the jobs to other countries because it's STILL cheaper to do that than stay here.
Taxes, EPA, pensions, and our over-bloated salary requirements are only convenient excuses that corporations use to hide the fact that they're simply greedy.
