No such thing as an all season tire even though tire manufactures sell tires labelled as such. At temps near or below freezing. If you care about your passengers, others around you, your vehicle and yourself. You will purchase and install four sinter tires with the snowflake and mountain symbol. Then there are summer tires. I choose them by wet road traction first and everything else 2nd. An all season tire is a compromise that doesn't excel at anything during the three warm seasons. In ice, snow or even on cold wet pavement at temps of 30's & 40's the rubber is so hard & stiff traction is reduced. Something like a kid's toy with hard plastic wheels. You should have seen the drivers in Toronto during last Wed's storm. There were those sliding unable to stop or steer. Or blocking hills and ramps due top being stuck. Summer or allseasons, no good at all. Then there were those drivers with four ice tires that drove sensible.
