if it was me i would get some 1.5 or 2 x .25 or.5 steel and run it on both sides as far foreward and as far backward as you can and weld or bolt them to the tounge and frame plus i would go through and grind off the factory welds flat and reweld on top of the old welds. (P.s. a mig welder in my opinion would be better than a stick welder for this job.) just my 2 pennies worth
