Years ago I saw and used a device made for just that type of thing. We put in about 150 foot of black pipe that way but in this area we could not get it as deep as if really needed to be because of rocks. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
