You dont ground the starter to the solenoid, you should have one big wire that goes from the Battery to the solenoid, a big wire from the solenoid to the starter, and one or two smaller wires that plug to the front of the solenoid on a little bolt or two, depending on what style you have, I know on the old ford pickups it didnt matter if it was a one little wire or a two little wire solenoid, seemed to work either way, dont know where them wires went to though, in a wire harness on the fender. But as long as you have the big wires in the rite order it should work, unless you got a bad solenoid out of the box, been known to happen. Bob
