I had a bunch of galvanized from an old windmill. I used the 2x2 angle iron on the very outside ends running the length. Makes the ends all ine up and the vertical side I used to attach a side shield. I found some special screws made in Germany. They had a big flanged head and a torx fastener. Bronze in color and you buy them by the piece, 2 1/2 or 3 inches long. No water is going in those fasteners.
