I don't know about the brake rotor problems, but if it burns that much oil that may well be what caused engine to missfire. Have no ideas what repairs were need to correct miss so can not say. But, it should sure not use that much oil unless he is running a very long oil change period. Honda's are normally very reliable, well built cars. Warranties are so much dealer related that one has to be more careful of which dealer you buy from than the product itself.
