Fun stuff. I recognize the crappie, but what is the silver fish your wife has? I do remember that running a family fishing trip is just about a full time job, without fishing yourself.
Son and grandson wanted to go fishing last spring. I had been wanting an aluminum boat I could carry in the back of the pickup, and small enough that I could horse it in and out. Found an 8' aluminum "john boat" or "pram" on Craiglist- flat nose, wide, and pretty stable.
Took it to local lake, with electric trolling motor, on opening day. A couple hours into the adventure, were "boarded" by the Sheriff's boat- could only have two people in a boat that size! Tried to reason with the deputy- Son and Grandson together don't weigh as much as me, and it could just as easily have been me and an equally portly friend, so more total weight. She wasn't buying it, but didn't give me a ticket- just herded us back to the boat launch.
So, back to the drawing board- looking for a little bigger boat for this year.
Thanks for sharing the pics. The little dog looks like an especially good helper.
