and have two vw jetta diesels.. get between 38 mpg to 53 mpg with them, 42 mpg is about ave for a lot of hyway driving. 38 is into a head wind, and 53 is with a tail wind. I have had about 10 vw diesels now and all have done between 36 and 44 mpg as average. Only now I get the 6 speed automatics as I'm getting too stiff for all the shifting. Wife doesnt mind either.
