Another OT that I have...have had for??? December 1979 I bought a beat up '73 D100. $600. First sorta 'late model' I ever bought. Still have it, the carb drives me nuts, put a choke cable on it, keep a ballast resister and an extra module in the glove compartment with the tools needed, just in case it leaves me stranded. So the coil is doing that??... hummm, we'll have to try that. It's been bored out from 318 into a 340, still OK on gas, the rubber parts and door parts are getting tired..... ya can't get a truck to last 40 years like they did when I was a kid.... come tho think of it, they didn't have 40 year old trucks when I was a kid.... seriously, stuff this old doesn't get the emmissions test that fails more modern cars, much easier to work on, parts are still available and cheap, and if I find a D400 or something bigger, I would get it. you will own this more than I year I will bet on it...
