They might not make any money for the city. There was a big stink here a couple years ago about all the radar and red light camera's in the city(Edmonton). Seems a private company in Texas, I believe, monitors the camera's and rents them to municipalities to the tune of 10 to $20,000,000 a year. That's why they have so many of them. They need to give out a lot of tickets just to be able to afford the camera's and the processing. A lot of people don't agree with them because there's no way to tell who's driving the vehicle. Lots of tickets isssued for going 4 or 5 km/h over the speed limit. A repair shop that has courtesy cars requires a credit card number because too many people were getting photo radar tickets in courtesy cars and the company had to foot the bill.
