A word of caution probably no one ever considers. Upon arival at a ATV accident a number of years ago the traffic investigater came to the scene of the fatality. His first words were to much air pressure in the tires. We all rolled our eyes, and shook our heads. We had waited a hr for some young jerk (KNOW IT ALL), and that was his assumption?
He could not even see the tires at that distance, and we all thought he was full of crapola. I helped measure the distances of each and ever mark in the soil.
After he explained it, it made perfect sence, it became airborn going over a terrace. (For the record the terrace could be driven over in a mud storm with smooth tires on a 2 wheel drive car) It was less than two foot high, and farmed over.
Once it went airborn, the front tires made contact, and because of the extra air pressure it bounced him backwards on to the rear tires (also to much air). At that point he did cart wheels.
We got a tire guage, and they were over inflated. We all apologised to the TI and we all admitted he was probably right on target with his assumption.
