Yes it is, and makes our SMV's about twice what just a "cheap" one is.
But back to placement: it doesn't matter legally. I prefer about eye level in the middle. Too high or low won't be seen as quick.
I also use DOT red/white reflector tape on the outer and top edges of my equipment, front and back. I want to be seen before someone runs into me. DOUG
