I worked at a shop that built portable natural gas plants on big skids. They assemble everything in the shop and then haul them outside. They had a huge plant to pull out of the shop so they called Premay equipment(a heavy haul specialist). They needed 2 bed trucks and I had to weld a tow hook on the front of shops 22 ton Grove 4 wheel drive crane to use as an anchor for the bed trucks. Once the skid was outside, it needed to be moved to another part of the yard so it wasn't blocking the shop doors. They brought in 3 more cranes to lift all 4 corners and put it on a trailer. To move it, they didn't use one of their fancy new trucks. They used an old Diamond T or a REO(can't remember which) from the 60's and it moved the skid by itself. That old truck was a lot more heavy duty than their modern trucks and looked in showroom condition. The guys in shop were impressed with the older truck. I think they said it had a 24 speed gearbox in it. It didn't even grunt moving the skid.
