downsouth,
It's hit and miss here in Michigan at the Secretary of State's office. I think they've consolidated a lot of offices. Most are pretty efficient even when there's a bunch of people since they've seemed to staff up the remaining offices. The one I hate is near work in Dearborn, MI. The lines are usually long and the local immigrant population never have the right paperwork, love to argue with the agents, try and cut in front of everyone else. I saw one guy going through the trash to find paper numbers to reuse. Someone told me they saw the same thing and saw a guy argue that he was passed over. I think the office got wise to that real quick. A co-worker was there when a guy was repeatedly warned to not try and cheat (copy from person next to him) on a driver's test. They finally asked him to leave. I love the mail renewals via online for plates and even DL's.
