This morning I awoke to the AM alarm clock radio as I always do, and the hosts read a disturbing story from one of today's news papers. The jest of the story was that a large American heavy equipment manufacturer recieved a what I deemed to be a threatening letter from a group of people that said that they were "complicit" for selling some equipment to a foriegn government, that then used that equipment in ways that they disapproved. The manufacturer whom sells equipment all over the world in good faith, was basically at least partially blamed for it being used in ways that the group frowned down upon. Now, if I use my tractor to tear down the neighbor's fence, who should get the blame or credit? The manufacturer, or me? The author of the letter in the news story? The UN. The recipient of the letter? An Illinois based manufacturer (of which there is more than one).
