First thought is catch and eat them but you would probably waste the best part by not sucking the head. Or you could sell them; going for over $1.00 a lb live here. OK all joking aside. Sounds like your pond is not constructed correctly or your ecosystem is way off. While crawfish do burrow it is seldom to the point to make a well constructed pond leak. In other words your levees are not strong enough or you have way to many crawfish. While catfish will eat them Bass is what you really need. You need to eliminate brush and weeds so they can be foraged on and have limited hiding places. With this set up you would also have many small fish throwing your ecosystem even farther off. You sound like you really need some local help as their are many variables to cause the problems you are having. Contact your local AG center and if they do not have any info have them contact the Louisiana Ag Center at LSU in Baton Rouge LA. They have done a lot of research on fish ponds and crawfish ponds and should be able to give you some direction.
