It's interesting that the 2+2 is popular in area's were people really like them and then there's the people that had one and hated it. They have their place and you'll either like it or hate it. Whether its the operation of it, the way it looks, or the quallity of the machine that makes you decide one way or the other. For a cheap front wheel assist tractor you can't beat a 2+2. They do have their weak spots but if you treat as such it will last quite a while.

We had a 6788 for four years up until last summer and it was a good tractor. They don't have anything in common with a 5488 except the cab. We made a few small repairs to it (water pump, hydrualic hoses ect.) and we put a clutch and TA in it before we sold it. The 6788 was rated at 170 hp but due to their weight balance and amount of rubber on the ground they will easily pull with a 200 hp tractor. We replaced our's because we needed a powershift transmission and better hydraulics but we were sad to see it go.

There were only 348 of the 6788 2+2 made. Rare bird, most of the parts are the same as a 5488 but beware of the ones that aren't....
