Thomas. Someone may know what "PEO 2" means, but I don't - unless it is "TE20" or TO20"?

As you appear to be in Portland, Oregon, I'm guessing you most likely have a TO20? If so, TO20 serial number 27016 was manufactured in 1950 (From Ser No 14660 to 39162).

If, in the very unlikely event you have a TE20 which somehow found it's way into the USA, you have a tractor manufactured in 1948 (From Ser No 20895 to 77772).

End of the mind reading exercise for today!

Dad bought a new TE20 in 1948. It had the Continental engine. We lived in Nebraska at the time.

Steve. We live and learn! I knew the TE20 was sold in Canada but did not realise it was also sold in the USA.

Thomas. Is the transmission cast aluminium or cast steel? That should sort out whether it is a TE20 or TO20!

The TEA20 was the one not sold in the US. There was a big push in Canada right after WWII to buy British, to help the "motherland" get back on her feet. It was relatively austere at the time. To bring stuff into Canada from the USA was kind of special, Farmer's clothes and tobacco products most appreciated. The various US companies opened up "shadow factories" in Canada to avoid duties.

The TE20 with the cont. engine was produced for the US market. It wass available in 1947 and 1948 to supply Harry's distributors with tractors while he got his detroit plant built. The land for Ferguson Park was bought in Feb 1948, Construction was completed in July and Harry himself drove TO-20 SN 1 off the assembly line on October 11, 1948.

SN 48000 is said to be the last TE-20 with a cont. engine.
